I’m Joshua Austin, 36 years old. I’ve been working physical labor since I was 15.

School wasn’t for me. I couldn’t wait to leave, to earn my own money, to get out into the real world.

At 15, I hit the road and started working farms across Australia — harvesting pumpkins and watermelons under the hot sun. For 10 years, that was my life. Long, grueling days. Work hard, party harder. Moving from place to place, meeting people from all over the world.

Somewhere in the middle of it, I met a beautiful woman from New Zealand. We clicked instantly. Soon after, we built a life together, started a company, and welcomed our son into the world. A few years later, our daughter arrived too.

Life was busy, but good… until January 3rd, 2015.

That was the day my daughter passed away.

My whole world stopped.

It was the last time I ever picked a watermelon. Nothing about that life made sense anymore, so we packed up and moved to New Zealand to lay her to rest.

The next three years were a blur. I kept working, but something inside me had broken. I knew there had to be more to life than just work and survival.

I moved back to Australia, ended up in Darwin, and threw myself into the grind. But I also slid back into the party scene — drinking, drugs, late nights. On the outside, I was holding it together. On the inside, I was running from my past.

I hit rock bottom more times than I can count. Finally, on January 7th, 2021, I made a decision: I got clean.

From there, I rebuilt. I launched two businesses, got back into rugby, and pushed hard every day to create the freedom I thought I wanted.

But reality hit me again. I was burnt out. My businesses were eating me alive — too many jobs, no staff, unpaid invoices stacking up. Worst of all, when my son flew over for the school holidays, we spent the time working instead of making memories.

That crushed me. I realized I wasn’t free at all. I had built a new kind of trap.

By the end of 2024, I was done. Physically drained. Mentally exhausted. Every morning, I woke up begging the universe for a sign — some way out.

And then one day, I saw an ad.

I almost scrolled past it, but something made me stop. What if this was it? What if this was the sign I’d been asking for?

So I took the leap. And everything changed.

For the first time in years, I had my time back. My mind was clear. My body wasn’t running on fumes. And most importantly, I was present with my son. No more waiting for ‘one day.’

Now I’m building something unshakable — a life on my terms, a future my son can be proud of, and a legacy my family will never forget. This isn’t just about freedom… it’s about rewriting the story for every generation that comes after me.
